A rendition of an old English Carol - which traditionally starts the 9 Lessons & Carols service. This is a version I came up with using an open tuning on the guitar. I played my new Baritone Telecaster on this track, and had some other people send me in parts to add.
lyrics
Once in royal David’s city
stood a lowly cattle shed,
and a mother laid her baby
in a manger for His bed:
Mary was that mother mild,
Jesus Christ, her little child
Mary was that mother mild,
Jesus Christ, her little child
He came down to earth from heaven
who is God and Lord of all,
and His shelter was a stable,
and His cradle was a stall:
with the poor, the meek, and lowly
lived on earth our Savior holy
with the poor, the meek, and lowly
lived on earth our Savior holy
And our eyes at last shall see Him,
through His own redeeming love;
for that child so dear and gentle,
is our Lord in heav'n above,
and He leads His children on
to the place where He is gone
And like stars, with glory crowned
Stand his children, all around

Becca's writing is so rich, I fell in love instantly with her images and the stories she weaves here in Doxologies. One of my favorites of 2015. Wilder Adkins
